FEES

For clients who do not qualify for legal aid, you will find our private fees extremely competitive. To be as transparent as possible, these are quoted including VAT and are quoted ‘per person’ unless otherwise stated.

All sessions are priced by the hour, however, your mediation session length will depend upon the nature of mediation being undertaken and the stage of mediation.  For example, a first session covering child only issues will normally last 90 minutes, whereas a first session covering property and finance issues will generally last 90 – 120 minutes.

The cost of a mediation session is based on an hourly rate that allows for the time the clients spend with the mediator and the time the mediator spends on related case administration after the session. For example, a 90-minute session would typically involve up to 60 minutes of mediation followed by 30 minutes of mediation specific administration (such as preparing outcome statements).

Mediation Prices (this is priced per person, per session including VAT)

The cost of a mediation session is based on our hourly rate of £115 and the session prices allow for the time clients spend with the mediator and time the mediator spends on related case administration after the session such as preparing the Outcome Statement. If you wish to have a breakdown of the session timings please contact us.

Shuttle Mediation

This is when clients do not mediate in the same room together and these sessions are only available online, with you on separate screens and the mediator going between you. Due to the extra time needed to facilitate communication between clients, an extra 30 minutes is allocated for the session.

Extraordinary and out of session work

£115 per hour

Unlike solicitors we do not charge for administrative support to your mediation package (emails, letters, phone calls etc completed by our administration team), however, if any extra-curricular or onerous task is required of our administration or mediation team outside your sessions, then this fee will be applied.  You will always be advised of this before any work is completed.

Interpreter Fees

If you require the assistance of an interpreter for either a MIAM or mediation session, then you must inform of us this beforehand.  It is acceptable for you to use a relative or friend to provide you with language support during a MIAM, if this is not possible, we can arrange an interpreter for you.  When your case proceeds to mediation, we will automatically engage the support of an interpreter for you through an independent provider.  The full cost of interpreting support is paid by the client requiring assistance although this is refunded directly if you are assessed as being entitled to legal aid. Fees differ depending on the language spoken due to availability of interpreters.

Payments

Payment for a MIAM is payable when booking the appointment. Payment for joint mediation sessions must be made in advance of the session taking place.  Debit/credit card payments can be made by telephone to 01274 732768. If you wish to make payment by bank transfer, please contact our administration team for details.

Voucher Scheme

For clients that are paying privately for their sessions (ie not legally aided) there is a government scheme whereby we can apply for up to £500 grant to offset the cost of mediation involving child issues.  This grant does not cover the cost of a MIAM or preparation of Memorandum of Understanding at the end of an all issues mediation case.
